Rebecca Pergentile was also at the Toronto Bike Show.
Here is a video of her riding
“I would love to see a competitive girls class around here. I hope more girls start riding flatland! It’s intimidating at first seeing that it’s mostly guys and the level some of them are at. There will always be obstacles females face in competitive sports guys don’t. Hands up! How many people an hour before your flatland run got hit with intense abdominal cramps…? Haha. Yet I have never had a negative experience as a girl out there, even when I’m the only one. If there is any un-equality – I recognize I have more priviledges as a girl within the scene than a guy rider at my skill level would. Yet I think it’s generally known and accepted the girl scene needs that support to grow-something we all want. All the same I’m proud to be one of the few girls to take up the challenge, and a year ago I set aside a certain number of years in my life to push it. Year one complete, stoked on the future!”
